Server virtualisation is the execution of applications to various machines throughout single or multiple servers. Each of the user-operated machines has its own operating system but may also have access to additional operating systems if required. This process is helpful if additional room is required to store information but quick access is a requirement. Many large companies use this method, as it is more efficient to back up information in case of breach or system failure. Downtime and system compromises cause a loss in revenue and less productivity in the workplace.
