Application of fiber in plastering works

Hey folks, quick question from someone knee-deep in renovating an old house (yeah, the type with walls that seem to fall apart if you look at them wrong). I’ve been reading about adding fiber to plaster mixes, and it sounds like magic less cracking, better adhesion, stronger surface. But does it actually make a visible difference, or is it more of a "peace of mind" thing? I’m not trying to build a bunker here, just want the walls to survive more than two winters. Would love to hear real-life stories or tips - especially if anyone’s used different types of fiber. Thanks in advance!
