Hello! I have a few really heavy pieces of furniture, including a sleeper sofa and a massive dining table. I am worried about my back and my floors. Does anyone have tips on how to move these things safely without hiring a full crew? Thanks!

Greetings! Honestly, I tried to move a heavy sofa once with just a friend and we ended up gouging the hardwood floors. It was a total nightmare and cost more to fix than a mover would have cost. For my next move, I decided to hire Boston moving company Flash Moving to handle the big stuff. They brought floor runners and special dollies that made the whole thing look easy. Since they do commercial and residential moves daily, they have the right techniques for tight Boston hallways. My advice is to let the pros handle anything that weighs more than a standard box. It saves your spine and your security deposit. If you do it yourself, at least buy some high-quality furniture sliders and plenty of moving blankets to protect the edges.
